The Planting Brigade

One of the Austrian girl's last trips in St. Mary's County was to Mr. Stauffer's excellent Farm Stand. Our trip home from Mr. Stauffer's Farm included a plethora of plants to brighten the gardens --- asters, mums, cone flowers and a few remnant annuals.  We could barely squeeze Judith in...

and Mr. Stauffer couldn't stop smiling and laughing as Anna tucked in, making herself as small as her plant friends. These Austrian women are amazingly versatile and hard-working.  They spent the next day planting.
